UK SALES MANAGER
GENERAL SUMMARY
Effectively manage the predefined accounts, developing strong relationships with key contacts within those accounts to ensure their needs and requirements to drive sales growth of the brand and achieve annual targets.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Effectively manage the predefined accounts. Ensuring that they are contacted and visited regularly at both head office and key store level. Understanding their needs and requirements to drive sales growth of the brand.

Develop meaningful business plans for each own account and together with the sales team , for all other UK/IER accounts, carry out regular reviews with your manager and customer to ensure that the true business potential is realised. These must be clearly communicated to the Kipling brand team at the beginning of every season and developments/progress tracked on a regular basis

Work closely with your colleagues across the Company, in particular those covering the same accounts as yourself to ensure that you are fully aware of VF’s activity in the account and that all opportunities for VF brands are maximised.

Work closely with all areas of your accounts, both head office and branches, in order to identify the joint needs and requirements of the business and take responsibility for co-ordinating this to all parties concerned.

Make regular professional product presentations and conduct business reviews to the accounts and sales teams and provide authoritative guidance for the range selection so that the optimum range is stocked and replenished at all times.

Each season make proposals with the approval of your manager as to the terms and pricing for all accounts, in order to effectively negotiate with your buyers in order to maximise VF’s margin requirements.

For the forthcoming season and communicate details to the Planning department and where appropriate Merchandising. Agree delivery dates and inform the customer.

Obtain regular sell through information for all Key accounts for analysis and effective management reporting on a monthly basis.

Ensure that the brand message in store is consistent with the marketing statement and that the brand enjoys a high level of visibility within appropriate accounts. This should be presented and agreed with each Key Acc.

Ensure regular staff training sessions, both formal and informal, to all key stores ensuring that all staff is fully conversant with the features and benefits of the brand product range and that they are motivated to sell the brand.

Provide regular feedback to European management covering the marketplace, competitor activity and product development.

Complete all administration accurately, on time and to a high standard. Ensure the comprehensive account profiles are completed for all Key accounts and that records both PC and paper based are kept up to date for all accounts.

Develop new distribution ensuring that any new or prospective account meets VF’s criteria.

Represent your area of responsibility in European product and marketing meetings to ensure that your Key Accs requirements are fulfilled.

Any other duties as assigned to the job holder within the job holders capabilities
ORGANISATION
Supervisor: Country Manager UK/Eire/Benelux
Direct Reports: Sales Team, Agents, Brand Administrator, Visual Merchandiser.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education: preferably to degree standard
-
Experience: Successful proven Key account experience, with history of regular over achievement with in a fashion denim, life style or footwear brand. Connections with the Key accounts a requisite

Leadership: An individual that can convince and influence others by their positive and effective actions
-
Analytical Skills: Highly aware of margins, profitability and all measurements of performance in key accs, - POR, ROS, Wks cover, density etc.

Other skills: Great motivator and convincing individual that can positively challenge and aggressively grow the brand in the most competitive – yet highly rewarding accounts in the UK. A model organiser of self and Acc base.
To be able to stay away from home on a regular basis.
